Dr. Siddiq Anwar is a Consultant Nephrologist and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi. Recognized as one of the region's leading nephrologists, Dr. Anwar holds professorships at Khalifa University, UAE University, and Gulf Medical University. He is also a Visiting Fellow at the ADIA Lab, established by the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds, where his work focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence to improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Anwar has spearheaded several transformative healthcare initiatives, including the digital transformation of nephrology services across SEHA-Abu Dhabi, the expansion of transplantation programs in the UAE, and the establishment of the nation's Paired Kidney Donation Program. He played a pivotal role in facilitating the region's earliest global kidney exchanges, including a landmark cross-border transplant between families in India and the UAE.
Beyond clinical excellence, Dr. Anwar has cultivated extensive networks across GCC healthcare systems, government stakeholders, and emerging markets in Indian Subcontinent and Africa, with demonstrated ability to identify high-value opportunities and execute at scale. He actively leads capacity-building programs aimed at improving healthcare delivery across the Global South.
A passionate innovator, Dr. Anwar is co-founder of RenAIssance, an award-winning AI research laboratory developed in collaboration with Khalifa University and MBZUAI. He is also a founder of Raza Farm, a circular and integrated farming initiative in Karnataka, India.
